Office 2007 include applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. They’re available as a one-time purchase for use on a single PC. Microsoft 365 plans include premium versions of these applications plus other services that are enabled over the Internet, including online storage with OneDrive and Skype minutes for home use. Apple has fixed that bug in the build of sqlite that ships with El Capitan in the 10.11.1 update, and we're adding UI to our hang detection code that will let the user choose whether to wait.
Lion is the most current OS you can put on a 2007 white A1181 with a Core 2 Duo processor. You only need 2GB to run Lion. A Core Duo processor will only work with Snow Leopard. You will not be able to install Mavericks or Mountain Lion, and even if you could get those on the laptop, performance would be an issue. Microsoft AutoUpdate makes sure your copy of Office will always be up-to-date with the latest security fixes and improvements. If you are a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you'll also receive the newest features and tools. Check for updates and install. Open an Office app such as Word, then on the top menu, click Help Check for Updates.
