A staple for any Total War mod list, Medieval 2 being no exception. Vader’s entry for M2TW includes tons of updates such as unit balances, map changes, and gameplay tweaks. But as with all DarthMods, the improved AI is really what stands out here. Unofficial fan site for Medieval 2: Total War, dedicated to bringing you the latest news, guides, FAQ, campaigns, strategies, forums, discussions, information, scenarios, mods, patches, and downloads for the latest game in the Total War series.
- The part of Medieval II: Total War that is played on the campaign map is turn-based, which means that each faction in the game takes turns moving its armies and managing its settlements and affairs. This means you can take as long as you like to plan out your moves on the campaign map: there is no time limit.
- Battle Maps are a dime a dozen on the internet. As far as Campaign maps that are not Fantasy maps for a Fantasy venue, there are only 3 campaign maps for the grand campaign (Rome and Med 2) of which I am aware of having been made other than a few where towns were relocated and vanilla. Lusted's Terrae, Rise of Persia, and Big Map.
- Medieval II Total War data world maps campaign imperialcampaign. Then find the file descrstrat. Open it with a text editor (Word, or somthing like that). Cut and Paste the 'unlockable' section into the 'playable' section and save the file. Launch the game and you should have every faction available.
Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the 'descr_strat' file in the 'medieval ii total wardataworldmapscampaignimperial_campaign' directory. Locate the 'unlockable' heading and copy its contents over the current contents under the 'playable' setting.
